  • what render setting should i use for Export video for Samsung Tv

Posted by Jeff Lin on June 11, 2016 at 9:58 pm

I am trying to render a video for my Samsung TV.
I rendered a H264 mp4, and my TV shows it doesn’t support this codex. However I have another mp4 i downloaded from the web and it works fine on my TV.

Can anyone tell me what render setting should I use to export video for samsung TV?

    Thanks

Just asking “Samsung TV” is too broad. There are tons of type/spec.
Look the specific spec for that TV in Samsung website, there should be ( i hope) a spec for video.

[Dave LaRonde] “TV sets don’t play back video files on their own.”

A bunch of newer TV’s can play stuff from USB drives/over network. We’d just need to know what the TV in question supports media wise.

    Quick Google :
    https://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/LN46C550J1F

Download the manual, look in page 32, there’s a lot of supported codec/formats info.

Also, take a look at the restriction with certain codec (at the same page, bottom), such as H.264; only support up to level 4.1

Which Samsung TV model do your own, you can check your Samsung TV’s user manual to see the specific display settings for it. If your own a Samsung 4K TV, H.265 MP4 can be a good option.
