  Does HDR10 content require software encoding?

  I have some HDR10 content and am doing some editing on it and want to save it to HEVC MP4 HDR10 again. That said, all the articles I read about maintaining HDR say you have to do software encoding not hardware. Does that mean I can’t use my NVidia Quadro for encoding? Will take days to encode 2 hours of footage I think. I’m Ok with that, just want to make sure this is actually necesary.
