  Selection tool not working

  Hey – I’m trying to use the selection tool to grab a layer and change its position, but it just keeps creating a selection box and not grabbing the layer. The layer is definitely unlocked and I’m selecting it in the composition when I go to grab it in the display window. What’s wrong?!

  You don’t need to select it in the “display” (composition) window if the layer is already selected in the timeline. Type “v” to make sure the transform tool is selected for moving a layer’s position with the mouse. Or move the layer a pixel at a time by tapping the arrow keys (hold SHIFT while tapping arrows to move 10 pixels per tap).

  You can also scrub the position values in the timeline.
