Performance – Empty layers and Empty spaces in composition
My team has a habit of creating too many layers with just a short clips in it. The remaining sequence often run empty. I often ask them to reuse layers. They also place very large png files scaled down to a tiny logo on the right top. While I have seen some performance degradation, is there a mechanism in Premiere or After Effects to ignore such empty layers and spaces or recalculate level of detail for scaled down images? Does it internally crop the empty spaces to improve playback performace in larger than content composition like in text or graphic layers?
