My composition was working 100% fine. Was able to scrub through it, make changes, and output my files from it. I had to revisit it ~20 minutes after I closed it because I had to make one change to a text layer (reduce the leading).

The beginning part of my composition has a grid of wires with lights flying across them. To do this, I used the “Knoll Light Factory LE” (or might’ve been the EZ version instead of LE) to make the lights. Now upon rendering my revised comp, it crashes. After a few restarts and repeated crashes, my AE began to display a message after each crash saying it was due to that filter. And my output would always crash on frame 56.

At frame 56, a layer began that was using this filter so I turned the filter off, but it still crashed. I deleted the layer and it still crashed. I deleted all of my ‘light’ layers within a 2 second span and it still crashed. It always crashed at the same point (56) and gave the same filter error message. Any ideas what’s going on?

As it’s the holidays I won’t be able to go to the office for a while, but I would like to have a few possible fixes handy for when I get back. Maybe a reinstall of the filter would do the trick? I have an older version of the project file available, should I revert back to this? The more suggestions the merrier! happy holidays 😛
