Final Cut Pro making random changes (transitions, timing, images’ size and posi
Hello,
I am encountering discrepancies while editing videos involving lots of layers. FCPX is not slow during use, nor does it crash on a routine basis. However, these discrepancies have not occurred thus far while editing simpler videos.
The discrepancies are:
1. FCPX periodically slightly alters the timing of transitions
2. Twice, images or clips have failed to display in the viewer. This seems to be locational; the same image or video will display if copy/pasted into a new location
3. When copying the contents of one project into another project, the contents become ill-timed upon pasting and have to be manually re-synced
4. Lastly and most concerning, a large number of images were rescaled + repositioned on the X/Y axes. All of the affected images belong to the same folder of media, but not every usage of this folder’s media was affected
The changes in 1, 2, and 4 are random. FCPX is not reverting to past nor default settings, rather, creating new settings.
The computer is running Catalina (10.15.5), FCPX is updated to 10.4.8. Space is plentiful and the computer has 64GB of RAM.
Has anyone encountered the same issues? What should I do?

I have not seen the issues that you have listed here, but I have seen some random bugginess from time to time. Odd behavior on keys dropped in the timeline then command z and it works the next time? I’m running Cat 10.15.7 and X 10.4.10. I feel like at this point the pattern is going to always be, fix something something else breaks and repeat. I’m holding off on any updates for a bit unless something major is not working.
