I am shooting/editing a music video and need to pull off this effect. I edit in Premiere and use After Effects (and the version of Mocha that comes with it) for tracking.

What would be the most effective and painless way to shoot/track this shot so I can easily get a solid track to lock these virtual profiles onto people?

    Thanks!!

You could place tracker markers somewhere on the people where they (the markers) can easily be painted out. I also find that even without markers, you can often find a lot of high contrast areas on people to track in AE (eyes, a button, even a whole face now!). That’s as long as their motion is pretty even and straightforward.

Once you have your shot, track the motion and use the Camera Tracker to add a camera that mimics your real-world camera movement.
