  Tracking a mask outline

  Hello video professionals. Long time lurker, first time poster.

  I’m bending my brain trying to figure out what is probably a very simple technique. In the first few seconds of this video is an animated trace that reveals the words “The Shard” in the top left corner.

  I can guess that there is a trace on a outline path of the text, but that’s where I get a bit stuck. Anyone know a way to do this fairly quickly?

  Convert text layer to shapes, add Trim Paths to shape content, animate Trim Paths end point.
