Recommended replacement apps for Photos/iPhotos libraries (large video files)
Please… what is your recommendation for an alternate application to replace Photos for my Photos/iPhotos libraries? I have had a pretty rough time consistently managing long videos that were taken with an iPhone 11 Pro Max, then imported into my 16″ MacBook Pro Catalina. My current workflow involves a directly cabled import from the phone to Photos, then some paring edits in QT, which are shared back to Photos for availability in FCPX. My videos can be as large as 70 GB before I reduce them in QT. I should add that I am currently a hobbyist and so money is an object.

Perhaps it’s worth looking at KeyFlow Pro

I appreciate that you shared this app suggestion with me, I was since stunned with Larry Jordan’s presentation of the software. So far this is as far as I have been able to preview KeyFlow Pro, but Wow! a breath of FreshAir in the consideration. Very much obliged.
Is this largely true?

There’s nothing else like it in this price range. I use it to keep track of my video clips going back years. I make small proxies and I can scan through, find what I want, and know which drive has the full-sized version of the clips I want to use.

Strong recommend! I have a ton of questions, but with a free trial, most of them will get answered. I do fear that iOS, OS Catalina, and or Photos will shoot it down or make it meaningless. My working hours+ to explore Key Flow are still directed to my hardware and the support system of Apple. Know that I am pretty stoked with the possibilities. Yep!
