  Creating Transparent, Animated Icons

  Hey guys,

  Sorry ahead of time if this thread is in the wrong category. I have no idea where to start but I figured After Effects might be close.

  What’s a good place to start if I wanted to create digital effects similar to the one in this video? It’s things like a wi-fi symbol blinking, a search bar popping up, etc.

  I make Kickstarter videos for a living and a lot of my clients (especially app developers) could benefit from this effect.

  Those effects are easily done in After Effects. You can make make the icons and symbols either in AE or another program, then import them in. The shots with motion in them used 3D Camera Tracking to make the symbols appear as part of the scene. Some nice blurs were added to some of the objects to simulate depth of field.
