Dilemma on a new laptop
Hello everybody, I want to buy a new laptop to use mostly with Premiere Pro (I have 2019 at the moment, but I will probably upgrade). I would like to get an MSI, and I have this dilemma whether to go with the GF65 (120 Hz monitor) or the new Creator 15. The difference in price is substantial. 1,099 (plus another 8 gig or Ram, as it only comes with 8 on board) versus 1,599 for the latter. They have very similar specs, except for the processor.
They both come with RTX 2060, so beside the creator having the touchscreen or the finger print sensor which I don’t care about, the big difference is the processor. 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7-9750H Six-Core for the first one, i7-10875H Eight core, for the latter.
Like I said, I use it mostly with PP to edit on HD but I want to be able to do 4k as well and I occasionally use After Effect, but for pretty basic stuff.
Now, the GF65 is also 250 grams lighter, which makes a big difference in portability.
I know this is very subjective, but I would like very much to hear your thoughts. Do you think it is worth to spend the extra money and get the extra weight for the new 8 core processor? Does it make so much of a difference in your opinion?
One last thing. the GF65 also comes with 144 Hz refresh rate for an extra 50 bucks. My understanding is this feature is visible only when gaming, is this correct?
