Hello there! It’s my first time posting here and my question is about Adobe Premiere Pro compatibility with Canon C200 CRM Files. I’ve heard online that Canon CRM Files are relatively easy to handle compared to other RAW Formats (RED’s, Blackmagic’s etc.). However, I am facing severe difficulties working with these files, even though I am working on quite a beefy computer:

    Specs:
    • i7 8700K (Stock)
    • Corsair 16GB 2400Mhz DDR4 RAM
    • Kingston 480GB SSD
    • Nvidia GTX 1070 8GB

Whenever I open CRM Files on Premiere, it takes minutes before errors start popping up inside Premiere and at times it will crash on boot. There’s also cases when the whole display driver fails and it results in me getting a black screen for a few seconds followed by a message in the notification center on Windows.

I have also tried encoding these files to ProRes 422 (even HQ), and while they work significantly better with Premiere, the workflow is quite time consuming because of the encoding – a 14second 60fps clip takes 1:37mins to encode.

I also want to point out that these clips play back just fine on DaVinci Resolve in UHD Resolution, even with quite heavy grading!

Am I doing something wrong here? Is there something wrong with my computer? Is there a faster way to encode these files? Is there a better workflow with these files that I am not aware of?

    Thanks!
