  Hello and Looking for Ideas to Automount a Cache Disk on AE Startup

  First, hello. I’m fairly new to this forum and, admittedly, After Effects as well. With this whole quarantine thing, I have fewer resources so I’ve been taking it upon myself to learn. It’s been going surprisingly well so far.

  My question.

  I have an external HD I use as my AE Cache. This drive is not set to automount and I’d like to keep it that way. So I’m looking for a solution to have the drive automount when I start After Effects. I created an automation with Keyboard Maestro and Automator that does this, but it’s not so reliable. The other issue is that if I’m not at my desk, and I start AE, the cache location resets.

  Is it possible to have either two cache locations, is there some other solution that I’m missing or am I just s.o.l.?
