Assistance with effects
Hi everyone, new to the forums. Im looking for some direction as to how to go about doing these effects. I have no ideas where to even start. Thanks in advance!

If you want a less tedious way than drawing on every frame, you can follow these steps:
– Create basic shape that you want to animate
– Create solid and add fractal noise effect
– Change the fractal noise parameters to be long and stringy (you might need to play with these later to get the desired effect)
– On the seed random parameter, alt+click the stopwatch and add the following expression: time*50
– Precompose the solid and select move effects into new comp. Call the precomp “map”
– Hide the precomp
– Add a displacement map effect to the shape layer
– Choose your “map” precomp as the displacement map layer
– Choose “luminance” for both horizontal and vertical displacement.Voila. You might need to do a lot of playing around with fractal noise to get the look that you want, but once you do, you can use it for a map on every shape you’ll be animating, and it will save you a lot of time.

Im gonna try that, thanks! and yea I personally love Joey Badass but I kinda like Mac, especially that last cd he released “Faces”. But yea man, I feel like the write on effect for the stroke is great but very cumbersome to work with, lots of layer with built in keyframes that I gotta move around. Im also finding that I have to draw on the actual video itself the copy into a separate layer which is a little annoying
