  How to do rotating 3D object effect?

  Hi there!

  Recently I’ve seen a lot of motion design videos with a rotating 3D object in it and I’m wondering how it’s done? The 3D object is almost like a net so it doesn’t have solid colors. (Transparent object with a black frame/black edges).

  Of course, you can just create a rotaring 3D object in Cinema 4D, and bring that into After Effects.

  But for the simple example that you show there, you can do something else, like place some shape layers in 3D space, parent them to a single null controller layer, and rotate them as a unit.
