Motion Tracking a masked graphic.
Hello,
I’m hoping to get pointed in the right direction. I have someone that has a 3sec piece of footage of a guy suddenly sticking out his tongue and he wants his logo graphic to appear to be tattooed on the tongue. I’ve pen tooled a mask around the graphic in the shape of the tongue in one frame (it’s most extended point). Can someone link me to a tut about how to make the graphic come out with the tongue and move with it when extended (it’s wiggly). I’m guessing it is motion tracking, but there are a lot of those so I thought someone might know of one close to this technique.

Also, you can try using Mocha to track the tongue in 2D.

Being new to AE I’m trying to ask a lot of question to cut down on trial and error of just finding a function. I did find a good tut on Mocha and will try reverse tracking because that makes sense. The footage is simply, well, if you stand in front of a mirror looking straight in and suddenly open your mouth wide and stick out you tongue fully extended towards your chin (ala Rolling Stones logo or Gene Simmons of KISS), that would be it. It’s about 2.5 sec.btw Your reel looks great and the doc below has a great feel.

Since the tongue is a flexible muscle you are probably gonna have to fix the perspective of your logo from frame to frame. But sounds very doable.
