Adobe After Effects – Day for Night conversion + Fire
Hello,
I want to make a video of a burning house at night, I want to use the stock fire footage form Video Copilot. There is just one problem. My camera can’t shoot nice at night. So I want to do a Day for Night conversion. found some tutorials on the internet wich is looking realistic. But then comes te problem,when I add the fire it does look very fake even with blendmodes.
Any tips/tutorial?
Short: I want to make a buring house at night, the footage is in daylight.

I saw that tutorial, the conversion wasn’t the main problem.
there has to be fire in the scene, but it won’t look ”nice”

Maybe I’m missing what the problem is. Take a look at how the lights where add. To make the fire real you need to have a flickering glow. Hope that helps and best of luck.

I looked into what you said, but I were not able to find the right thing with the fire. Any suggestions?

I think what works best is to find an video of it happening in real life such as this one:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vxAMrs_6oMs
Then use that as a guide. If that doesn’t help let me know.
