  cf cards

  i have my KPM attached to the back of my camera. I store the camera in a bag. Should I leave the CF cards loaded in the slots when not in use? I’m worried about crap falling into the slots, because they are on top of the unit (perfect receptacles for falling bits of dirt) or will it be harmful to the CF cards (2 very expensive 64g cards) to sit in the slots for weeks at a time. What’s the verdict?

  I would keep the cards removed. You can put a piece of tape over the slots if you’re worried, but theres no record heads in there. I’d be more worried about bending a pin if your camera takes an unexpected jolt and forces a card to move unnaturally.
