    Hello all,

Thanks for the answers below about the Varicam Camera and Iso recording

Now onto Ki Pro and Avid.

I really like the idea of a rack of Ki Pro’s as iso recorders in an OB truck, Flyaway switcher set up or studio.

Of course on wards delivery to FCP based post is easy.

How about the Avid side??? How is pro res seen by Avid – if at all!!! Does it get re wrapped into something Avid can use????

    Best

Depends if you’re talking PC or Mac.

On the PC side, you would download the free ProRes Decoder and transcode to something that the Avid wants, perhaps DNxHD in a suitable format.

On the Mac side, again, you’d download the free ProRes decoder for Quicktime and you should be able to import right to Avid, which will probably transcode to whatever you want on import.

ProRes on Mac Avid is fine, but it’s an import/conversion process to get it into the Avid.
