  Workstation recommendations for CS5.5 and beyond

  Hi all
  I need to upgrade my Dell XPS420 to something more current that can handle HD projects with my AJA Kona LHe card. Do I really need a top end workstation like the HP Z800 or Dell 7500 or can I get by with a lesser one and enough ram or an older workstation such as the HP XW8600 if it has the right NVIDIA card, etc?

  Bret,

  In your case, using an LHe, an older HP xw8600 will actually work better. Newer motherboards have not been certified for use with the LHe. So if you have acess to an xw8600, use it. If you prefer to buy a newer HP, you’ll want to upgrade to a KONA LHe Plus, KONA LHi, Or KONA 3G
