Posted by Steve Mydelski on September 18, 2007 at 1:09 pmMay be I was dreaming but can the AJA Xena capture HDV via firewire and convert it to DVCPro HD at capture?

The only compressed format I know of that you can capture into is Cineform.

September 19, 2007 at 1:19 pmI believe you may be dreaming about the Kona card on the Mac side of the tracks, which can capture via HDSDI (you would need to have an HDV cam with HDSDI out or an HD Connect LE or something like that to have the footage coming to the card HDSDI) or analog component.
Unfortunately on the PC side, nothing of this type yet. Adobe will be supporting P2 media shortly, but it will still fall short of the intense integration with DVC ProHD that FCP has on the Mac…
Wake up…wake up…it’s time for school…

November 16, 2007 at 6:24 pmNow that PPro has DVCProHD support, is there any chance we will be getting the ability to capture an HD-SDI signal into a DVCProHD file using the Xena card any time soon?
Aja…
Please?…
