  Direct capture

  I want to direct capture( full studio production) with my Z1 to a Quad AMD HP9300 workstation via component.

  My questions:
  Which capturesoftware?
  Is there a solution to monitor the picture while capturing with a SD and HD monitor
  to which format can I capture
  any solution for HDCAM Mastering? PPro2?

  Is the XenaLHe deliverable now?
  Any recommendation for a dealer in europe(germany) AJA & !PC! (asking a mac dealer for pc-hardware evokes annoying comments)

  The XENA LHe is shipping now, and is available in Germany from many sources. Please check our “Where to Buy” section of our website:

  The XENA LHe ships with our Machina software application which allows recording to DPX, Cineon, TGA, TIFF, BMP, AVI, and QuickTime files, from with er the analog or digital inputs of the LHe. The card includes RS422 control, so you will need to purchase and adapter to interface to your Z1 for mnachine contriol, if desired, or you can simply “crash” record with no timecode. You will also need to buy an adapter to interface your cameras unbalanced RCA audio outputs to the LHe’s balanced XLR. More info here:

  Also, please note that the XENA Lhe, XENA LH, and XENA LS do NOT have any Premiere pro 2.0 integration, but instead are targeted at professional motion graphics. The XEAN HS does include PP2.0 integration, but does not offer the HD analog I/O that the LH/LHe does.

  Ok, so I record with Machina software the incoming YUV from Z1 to AVI or Quicktime. For example after a take I can soon control the recorded take in real time with machina software and go ahead with next take… is this right?

  While recording is there a liveoutput either on HD or SD (YUV or SDI) for a monitor?

  Yes, you can record a clip at a time, and have instant real-time playback of that clip.
