[Bill Portune] “Any forthcoming drivers for the IoHD and FCPX? The IoHD wasn’t mentioned at all in the AJA info document regarding FCPX…”

    Bill

I am going to go out on the ledge here, but if FCPX barely supports 2 year old computers, I kinda doubt that it will work with any other hardware older than that like that IoHD is.

Finalcutpro X is based on a Prores architecture, so my guess is that Aja should be able to supply new drivers that support it – at least output. The problem with FCP X is that there is no workflow to capture from tape, so the whole RS422 serial remote thing probably is history.

Io HD can be used to ingest from tape or output to tape via the AJA VTR Xchange application; this allows you to create clips for use in Final Cut Pro X or edit to tape clips exported from Final Cut Pro X.  At this time, the Io HD does not provide video preview monitoring for Final Cut Pro X.

IBC has just passed, no news. Guess we’re all waiting for Apple?

Why will AJA not respond. Does no one from AJA read these posts. A simple answer to whether try are going to write drivers at some stage. Is it really that hard.

I believe that Apple has promised two new features coming in “early 201:”—multicam editing and broadcast-quality video monitoring. So perhaps AJA may be looking at that timeline. Today’s update allows Apple Motion dual displays. Gets interesting!
