I’m using an AJA IO Express, with v8.1.1 drivers.

Editing with FCP using DVCProHD footage (1440×1080) @50i

Primary output is 1080i via HDMI

Secondary output is SD downconvert via SDI to an SD monitor.

This downconverted output is the wrong shape if set to ‘anamorphic’ and setting the Sony monitor to 16:9 (i.e. a circle wipe is not round).

It is correct if set to ‘letterbox’ and leaving the Sony monitor at 4:3.

I assume this is an error coming from the thin raster nature of the DVCProHD codec – the maths in the downconversion being incorrect?

On further reflection, it seems to be a problem between keyboard and chair.
