Although the new iMac is extremely fast and has an upgraded video card, can it run the AJA io?

I understand that they still only have one FIREWIRE 800 port but has the architecture changed so it will work?

I am working in a “Solid State” world and back up any media on a external drive currently, is the concern that I would be running FCS3 along with my media on the same drive? Any other concerns?

    Thank you,

    Derek

No. The iMac has one firewire bus and you need two in order to run an io and a firewire storage device.
