So a friend has a Red movie done and is going to preview it from a blu ray. I suggest he use my IOHD and play off of the timeline in FCP. Blu ray is only 1080P and so is my IOHD I guess but is there any way to stream a 2K sequence with software updates or anything> Will the IOHD even see the signal? He has a 4K projector available for the preview.

What size is your 2k? Why not render down a 1920×1080 ProRes or HQ version? Much better quality then BluRay.

That’s what I am suggesting. I just didn’t know if there was a way to get the full 2K raster. He doesn’t have a portable solution so he was forced to go blu ray. (I hope he doesn’t have problems!)

[Jeff Mack] “is there any way to stream a 2K sequence with software updates or anything> Will the IOHD even see the signal?”

    Nope

1920×1080 is the largest frame size the IoHD will output.

Jeremy is correct that it will look better from the Iohd than it will from bluray….
