  Dumb Ref Question

  Greetings all,

  I’m running an ioHD to capture/up/downconvert to/from a CVR-75.

  I need to purchase (I hear ya’ Bob!) a burst/sync generator. Do I need anything more complicated than a Burst SG-4? I don’t have any other decks (currently) except for DSR-11.

  I’ve done some capture and layback through the Aja without any apparent problems, but am aware that lack of sync can cause problems. I hate those.

  I know the GEN10 is recommended frequently (is the Blackmagic COMVSYNC equivalent?), but since I’m not connecting any HD sources… I just want something that will sync this simple rig and won’t cost a fortune. I’m currently leaning toward the COMVSYNC just to future-proof a bit.

  I bought a GEN10 since the price is right and it can output both Comp Sync and Tri-Level for whatever you need.
