  Capturing VHS via IO

  When I am capturing video from vhs to FCP via the AJA io I run into trouble with dropped frames. I use the capture now feature in the log and capture window but it cancels itself when it detects a dropped frame.

  However, when it doesn’t get automatically cancelled when a drop frame occurs I get some weird beeps that are getting recorded in the audio.

  Any way around these problems?

  If you have access to another firewire device, like a deck or a camera (with an av pass thru)you might try capturing without the IO.
