I believe the IO HD ONLY encodes to ProRes 422 – meaning no matter what format you’re bringing it – it only encodes it to ProRes 422 for SD and HD. Meaning no uncompressed, no DVCPro HD, no DV, no DV 50, etc. ONLY ProRes 422. Is this correct?

    Thanks,

Bob Zelin – how does the compression of the ProRess 422 1080i look in person?

How does Apple Pro Res 422 HQ look in person – it looks EXACTLY like AVID DNxHD 220, which is “good enough”for every major network, and cable provider in the United States. If this is not “good enough” quality for the “George Lucas”crowd – I don’t care, because I am not in the feature film market.

Bye Bye uncompressed 10 bit HD (and the storage is requires).
