Output issue 480 footage to 486.
Experencing an issue with 720×480 media playing out on the IO Analog. Source footage is DVCPRO50 captured over firewire. On the video monitor, when the timeline is parked (still), the video appears streteched to 486, during playback it pops down to 480. The static (pause) frame stays visible on the 6 horizontal lines on the top and bottom of frame.

Can we set the IO to always display 480 footage as 480, even when in pause?

Where’d you make that graphic and is ti rendered? That might be part of the problem. Does this happen with two video files?

The graphic is just a place holder using the FCP text tool. It doen’t matter if the shots are video or graphics. Any 720×480 seq outputs on the IO as 720×486 when paused, in playback it jumps down to 720×480. The empty 6 pixels hold the lines of video from the paused frame.

Get yourself the 16×9 mask for your monitor and you won’t see that as it’ll be hidden beyond the normal scan range.

A 16:9 mask for the monitor would be one solution. This current projecct will be displayed as full underscan 720×480 on Kiosk and computer screens. Which is why this has become an issue. Any other suggestions welcome. Thanks for the help.

Then you have nothing to worry about as the 720×480 raster will be shown on your kiosk/computer.
You could also crop your movie (once completed) to get rid if the extra gunk once you do a final encode. Even the horizontal edges of your 720 movie will not be perfect. Export a quicktime to see.
