  IO la as media converter???

  Hi

  WE have an IO la and we were wondering if when you take it off firewire can it work as a media converter? like component in to s video and composite out?
  or does everything have to go through firewire?

  All outputs are active with the io family. If you feed it composite, then component s video and composite are active. You will need to set up which input you want to feed (through the control panel and firewire) and then the io should stay in that mode after you pull the firewire cable.
