  Light Drawing Video question

  I am primarily a still photographer that wants to produce video examples of light drawing. I recently ran across the following videos that demonstrate exactly what I am looking to do but my video expertise is obviously out of date.

  Can anyone clue me in on the techniques used to capture the seemingly real time light drawings performed in these clips?

  I see strobes, light sticks, maybe a fluorescent bulb and either LEDs or lasers to perform the drawings as in a still long exposure photograph, yet people are interacting in full video mode and appear to be looking at monitors.
