  varicam using aja io

  can digitize DVCPRO HD 720p24 footage shot on the panasonic varicam and using the 1200A deck into FCP HD? going through an AJA io.

  Hi-

  The AJA Io is a standard definition (SD) device, so there can be no interaction with HD formats including DVCPRO-HD. If you wish to use that codec, or any other HD format, you may want to consider either the KONA 2 or KONA LH (which is also available now in PCIe for the new G5’s).

  why cant you load the footage directly over firewire.
  remember however that there is no way to monitor the video though the aja,
  so a secondary computer monitor would be wise.
