  Is latest IO Firmware good for both of my systems?

  I have 2 systems side by side that I would like to share an IO with. One is a G4 dual 1ghz running 10.3.6 and FCP 4.5. The other is a new G5 dual 2.7 running 10.4.1 and FCP 5. I want to start using the IO and the new control panel with my G5 system, but I’ll have to update the firmware. Since I still have to share my IO with my older system, I don’t want to cause any problems if I update the IO. Should I go ahead with the firmware update, or will this be incompatible with my older system?
