up res ing youtube
Posted by Ben Le masurier on July 8, 2008 at 2:56 amHi
I’m looking for a way or plugin that will help me in resing up images off youtube?
Is this possible?

July 8, 2008 at 3:00 amNo, up-rezing images from YouTube is going to be VERY difficult if not impossible as they are already highly compressed images. Even a fractal algorithm is not going to do much.
Sorry to bear the bad news.

July 8, 2008 at 10:19 pmif you mean just jpg, then best bet is photoshop bicubic resize. if video, then use plugin like red giant’s instant hd with antialiasing. It wasn’t meant to take 320×240 so don’t expect fantastic results.

July 9, 2008 at 5:44 pmWhile you will not get a pristine, artifact-free HD result from uprezzing this type of video source, assuming that you use a video application like Adobe After Effects, Apple Motion or Final Cut Pro, you can download a free trial version of Boris BCC 5, which includes the BCC UpRez filter and see if the result is good enough. The trial version will operate free and without watermark for a 2 week period, after which it will render with an X through the comp window. You can download it here:

Cheers,
Peter.
