In the 8.0 software, is edit to tape remembering your current settings for you when you black encode a tape? I’ve found that it seems to be laying something other than my current settings. My first clue comes when ‘drop frame’ isn’t checked – even though I’m working in Drop frame 1080i Pro Res and all my remembered settings call for that (control panel, user prefs, etc). I have to manually select the correct settings to black encode and then it’s all fine, otherwise I’ll get crazy layback problems where video is 8 frames delayed, frame accuracy is lost, etc – the typical behavior you’d get if your tape is striped at the wrong setting.

Is this me, or is this just a quirk of the software?

    FYI, I’m working on a Kona 3 in a new 12 core.
