  • Can I Remove Unused AJA Presets?

Posted by Kevin Hedin on March 24, 2010 at 10:32 pm

In an effort to simplify the Audio/Video Setting menu in FCP, I was wondering if I could remove any AJA presets for (Sequence,Capture,Device control, or video playback) that I am not using, or will never use. And if I remove them, is there an easy way to get them back just in case?

    Hi Kevin,
In your main mac HD go to library>Application Support>Final Cut Pro System Support>Custom Settings>Kona3 Easy Setups. In this folder there is all of your Kona 3 east set ups. I have not tried this… but you may be able to remove (and save somewhere else where you can find them later) the easy set ups you wish to remove.

You may also need to trash your pref in FCP so it forces FCP to go through the process of indexing them again. Otherwise they may still show up in your easy setup drop down.

Getting them back should be as simple as doing this in reverse. But I cant guarantee it. 😉

So I just tested this and pulled all of my PAL Kona Easy Setups into a folder on my desktop, trashed my preferences in FCP, opened up FCP and *BAM*… my system exploded! HA, not!
It worked like a charm and ALL of my PAL easy set ups were GONE but everything else remained.

By the way… here is a great free software to trash, manage and even SAVE your preferences in all your FCStudio apps: https://www.digitalrebellion.com/pref_man.htm

Call me if you need to, you have my number.
