  Kona / DA 88

  Im trying to layback 8 tracks of audio from FCP to a DA88 using a Kona 3
  Via the AES i/o

  I invoke edit to tape and the 88 spins to the in point. All looks good but at this point it puts in an 8 hour 59 minute negative offset and spins back to the head of the tape.

  Has any one had any similar experiences?

  I assume you are using the IE88 Tascam interface.
  Tascam did not follow the standard Sony P2 protocol (this is what the buzz name for the RS422 protocol was) – so I am not surpried you are having errors. I don’t have a simple answer for you, but I am surprised that you are trying to layback to a DA88 in 2009.
