Hello there I am outputting a timeline that is 1080p 23.976 to my DVW 500.

My issues is that video elements in my timeline are appearing on fields of video instead of full frames. Case in point my two beep is starting on 00:59:58:00, which would appear to be correct but it is actually visible on 00:59:58:01 only if advance my video by 1 frame forward. It will not appear at 00:59:58:01 if I start at 00:59:58:02 and rewind 1 frame, so it must be locating that 1 frame of video on the fields between 00:59:58:00 at 00:59:58:01. Also my two beep will not appear if I start at 00:59:57:29 and move forward 1 frame to 00:59:58:00.

    What I have done/tried – my video playback setting is 1080p 23.98 – I have tried 1080psf 23.98, 1080 29.97 and still lands on a half frame.

I have two DVW500 and I have tried them both and also both decks have the Capsen on 2f as I noticed this in another forum.

I am using an LHe with the latest quicktime and FCP but I am not on Snow Leopard just Leopard and my AJA software is 6.5 NDD (as informed by the AJA tech, but I did also try the latest)

So can anyone shed somelight on this or can you let me know if you have another method of taking a 1080p 23.98 sequence and outputting to 525 29.97. I have used a time-code calculator to make sure the difference from a drop sequence to a non-drop sequence is adjusted.

    Thanks in advance.

I don’t see the problem? When going from 24p to 60i, pulldown is added a field at a time. Your footage is no longer progressive. The downconvert will delay the signal a frame for processing so you must account for that
