    Hi all,

I just installed a new system and It is dropping frames a lot. I’m about to head over to take a look but I was wondering if someone has had same experience with this setup before.

It’s new Macpro quad core 2.93Ghz. 8 gb ram
Kona LHi card Running 7.0 drivers
    FCP studio 7 OS 10.5.8
    Maxx EVo2K system test read/write around 400mbs
Ran disk utility everything checked out.

Codec using Xdcam EX 1080 60i

They can run for hours without card and no issues. With card on going out to a JVC broadcast LCD mon HD-SDI it drops frames.

Any clue? I’m thinking of going back to the older set of drivers. I also an pretty confident my storage is not the problem.

    Thanks,

close project. Open up new project. Open up new sequence. Import your clips. I bet everything starts to work. I have seen corrupt sequences cause all kinds of issues (just like with AVID systems !).

My guess is that your project and output settings don’t match. Also try turning off thumbnails and realtime scopes in your sequence.

PS and totally off topic. Bob, for your p2 clients on snow leopard, try connecting the pcd20 via USB instead of fw800. Might work for them in the interim.

I’ve been having a similar issue. Turn off mirror on desktop see if it goes away. Thats been the only workaround ive been able to figure out

    Guys.
the current driver for the LHI is 7.01

This is a required update for the LHI – this is the only driver that is currently at 7.01

Thanks for all of your info. Last night I had them try and go back to a previous driver. System worked for a while then started up again. I’m having them go back to the current driver and will have them create new sequences and look into the other suggestions as well. Hopefully one of these will work.

    Thanks,

I noticed my LHi was dropping frames, but for whatever reason when I turned on VANC, it played back fine. Not sure why it worked but it did. It wasn’t a storage issue, since I have a near empty Cal Digit HD Element.
