  Kona LH – Final cut- Ghosting??

  Hello,
  I am using the KONA LH with a KL Breakout box into my G5 Power PC Dual 2.5 GHz (4GB DDR SDRAM)

  Going from Sony HVR – M15E via component using DV as the control, Final Cut capture setting is 625 25 DVcPRO50

  When I play back the image there is a lot of ghosting going on?

  This is a new set up perhaps I have not got the settings right on my Control Panel??

  There is no ref option from my deck so sync is currently set to Video In.

  Any Help would be soooo appreciated!!

  How are you viewing this ghosting.
  Kona > Monitor?
  Kona > Deck > Monitor?
  Kona > Deck (tape) then on Monitor?

  hello,
  Viewing via DV cable from mac, to deck, to monitor using s video.

  No probs when digitizing via dv from deck only when using kona?

  Jo –
  your Kona LH card came with a breakout “octopus” cable. Take the “Y” output, and stick it into the composite video input of your TV monitor. How does it look now ? Go to the AJA Control Panel utility, and click on the ANALOG tab, and switch it to composite. It will now become a color signal. Does it look ok ? If it still looks bad, in the AJA Control Panel, go to the control tab, and select TEST PATTERN COLOR BARS (without FCP running) – you should see color bars on your TV monitor. How does that look.

  If you dont’ have a video cable, and can’t find your break out cable that AJA sent you when you bought this card, guess what – you are going to go out and purchase a normal video cable, so you can try these tests.
