  Stable Software Versions Followup

  I saw one of the previous posters ask about stable versions; Bob Z advised to update to all the latest, 10.5.5 and such.

  My followup is that I need to make 20 or so stable cloned drives for a post facility, but only a few of the machines are intels. There are some G5’s and some quad cores.

  Here are the versions. Has anyone run into any issues on these older machines? We’re running the latest on the new octocores just fine but if anyone has run into issues, I’d really like to know before I create 20 new system drives.

  Versions:
  Mac OSX 10.5.5
  Quicktime 7.5.5
  FCStudio 2 – FCP 6.0.4 + all latest updates
  Either Kona 3 5.1 NDD or LHe 5.1 NDD (I’ve heard of some 6.0 and 6.1 issues so unless I really need to, 5.1 has always worked for us)
  Adobe CS3 Single client software (latest update)
  All have Atto FC HBAs, 41es or 41xs

  I know that I can’t make the clones on an intel, I have to make them on a PPC. Are there any caveats with the latest updates that anyone knows about? Thanks in advance.

  every version of a driver has issues. I urge you to use the 6.0.1 Kona drivers, and not the 5.1 drivers if you do these updates.
