  Version 6?

  So any news on the Kona Version 6 drivers? The original press release said “late May” I guess they’ve run into a few problems…

  Since that announcement, there’s been a new release of the OS and at least 2 QT updates.

  QA takes time.

  Yeah, that’s what I figured. It would be nice for Aja to issue a revised timescale though. It makes the current press release seem a bit unprofessional…

  Yeah, but look at the date on that release, it was from april. Since this driver adds the RED functionality, it could not ship until RED released the updates for Build 16. The QT component was changed and that is one of the larger reasons that the updates were delayed.

  Anytime you are adding specific support for a platform or tool it is necessary to have it tested prior to delivery, that process is going on now.

  I’m not upset at Aja or anything – I just wish that they’d keep us more up-to-date with what’s going on. I don’t mind delays – I’d just appreciate being told that they’re going to happen. I shouldn’t have to look for this information on creativecow, it should be in the Aja news section or something.

  The fact is, that as soon as they missed the ship date mentioned in the press release they should have put up something to let the customers know what’s going on. That’s just good manners! 🙂
