Since I have version 5 of the AJA Kona driv ers, I have an audio delay of about 2 frames. Changing the frame off set in the System Settings hasn’t helped, nor trashing the preferences

It’s a project shot with the Sony XD Cam at 25p. The codec is PAL 625/IMX at 50 mb.

Nothing. There’s a weirdness floating around with ether FCP, Quicktime, or something that writes to Quicktime with 23.98 SD material, at least that’s what has been effected so far. I haven’t hear of any other format/frame rate being effected.

    Hi
Im getting a very strange thing happening, the PAL Video monitor is about 2 or 3 frames ahead of the computer playback! Very strange… on version 4 the video monitor was always behind the computer plyback, and sometimes it was a whole second behind!

This is a massive shortcoming of Aja, the Matrox Axio suffers no lag at all. It is impossible to use the Aja Kona Lhe for cutting to music because the sync issues are so bad.

5.0 seems to have improved, but it is still off – weird that it is AHEAD of the computer though!

[Mark Palmos] “This is a massive shortcoming of Aja”

Hold on, take a deep breath, relax, now let it out.

This is not a short coming of AJA, it’s matter of FCP not being set up properly. Notice how I didn’t blame you there?

Go to Final CUt Pro > System Settings > Playback Control Tab and change the frame offset to -2. If that doesn’t work for you, try different numbers until it matches up.

    Hi
I will fiddle with those settings, though there are much bigger problems im having with Kona LHE at the moment… but it seems weird that sync can be a whole second out, and scrubbing backwards and forwards is as thogh via a long elastic band, it is extremely un-responsive when compared to matrox axio. (or discreet edit with a targa card for that matter)

    Mark,

Whenever something happens such as what you are describing, you need to unistall the Kona drivers using the uninstall utility, then reinstall. If that’s not it, then your slot configuration on the fancy 8-core is somehow forked-up.
