    Hey Cows,
I have a Kona LHe capture card which I’ll be using to capture Video off of a DVCPRO deck. I have separate source audio files that I need to capture on a DAT deck. This is my first time capturing audio from a different source, and I just want to make sure I’m setting it up correctly. Is it as simple as connecting the DAT deck to the audio in to the Kona card? Also, any timecode issues you can think that might come up? Do I just need to set up the audio source inside FCP? I know this is pretty general, but any tips or info you mighty masters may possess, I’d love to know.

    Cheers,
    Francisco

Is that DVCPro or DVCPro HD or DVCPro 50?

What kind of DAT machine? Does it have rs422 and matching timecode to video?

What ‘frame rate’ are your sources (video and audio)?

Usually when capturing audio only to any capture device within FCP, you have to send video to the card (any video will do) so it has something to lock to. You don’t have to capture the video, just send video to it so the card has an idea of what’s going on.
