  • Does Exporting Current Settings Add Compression?

Please forgive if this isn’t the right place for this.

I have a Kona, running on an Intel based power mac.

We’ll be editing something in 720p. My question is, if we export our final sequence as a quicktime movie with ‘current settings’, is it going to compress the movie more than it already was as clips in the sequence?

In other words, does exporting a movie add compression?

Or would it be better to make a DVC PRO HD tape as a master? Is THAT compressed as well?

Looking for a way to make a master to take to color correction shop that is not compressed any more than it already was as I was editing it.

    Thanks!

As long an you don’t select recompress all frames, you will not add additional compression when using export QuickTime movie (using current settings). Make sure to select make movie self contained.
