  HDV via Kona LHe only shows freeze frame

  When trying to play HDV 1080i50 (I work in a PAL envirinment) footage in the viewer or in a HDV timeline via Kona LHe card onto SD monitor, I only get a freeze frame! I can shuttle back and forth, but during playback, only the sound runs smoothly.

  Settings for primary and secondary video output in control panel are 625i25.

  I thought the LHe allows realtime hardare based downconversion ?! Any ideas?

  You have to set the video output to 1080i in FCP. The downconversion is set in the Kona LH control utility.

  Btw, your current setup would work in FCP 6.

  Primary should match your timeline. Secondary should be whatever you want to convert to.
