  Actually, I’m wondering if the Media Manager bugs were fixed even though it is not listed in the release notes.

  This just in…

  Pro Application Update 2007-01 updates the following components

  Apple ProRes 422:
  Delivers improved encoding performance for Power Mac G5 computers.

  Perhaps this is code for “Apple ProRes 422 now Altivec Optimized for HD capture”?

  The question then becomes, how fast a G5 box do you need?

  Anyone happen to catch the footnote about AVCHD being able to be captured now?

  A Little birdie told be that this now supports CAPTURE of ProRes up to 1080 60i on the last gen of Quad G5’s.

  however this does not allow for any RT in the timeline- so basicly you can use that older machine as capture station.
