Can anyone recommed some good plug-ins for generating flames/fire in After Effects?

Did you try searching the COW posts for “fire”? This question comes up every now and then.

These are not plug ins but work great in AE and they are CHEAP!!

I don’t know it but in the describtion they sad it’s for this kind of stuff.

ElectricFX’s Pyro plug-in is arguably one of the slowest plug-ins ever developed for After Effects — if not the slowest (and some would argue, “By far!”). Its legendary slowness is the reason that the plug-in never saw many willing to step up to the plate and buy it.

Plus… Electric FX seems dead. There’s nothing on the site, and I don’t think there’s any support on the plugins anymore.
Which is kind of sad, because a really good fire and smoke simulation would be very, very welcome, and with todays CPU’s Pyro might actually be worth a try… but I’m not buying tools from a dead company.
I have Particular, but I haven’t been able to get completely realistic ‘hero fire’ or billowing smoke from it.
