  Composite out from Kona 3

  I’m trying to make DVCam dubs from an HDV project, using the composite out from a Kona 3 card and into a DSR-11. I can get color bars, but no video playback.

  The Kona Control Panel shows:

  1080i25 in the Frame Buffer
  625i25 Pal composite in the analog out

  In FCP’s audio/video settings

  Sequence Preset is HDV – 1080i50
  Video Playback is AJA Kona 625i25 8 Bit(720×576)

  Am I missing something obvious?

  set to play all frames in FCP?

  Set your FCP audio video setting to Kona 1080, then let the kona card handle the down convert. You’re asking the system to down convert in two different places.

  Thanks Gary. It was indeed the external video/view all frames setting.
